Dr. Sheldon Heath has two degrees in psychology, and has his medical degree from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Dr. Heath has training as a psychoanalyst, psychiatrist and in psychology.

He did his psychiatric residency at the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, N.C. and Hill End Hospital, St. Albans, U.K. Following this, he was a postgraduate fellow at the Tavistock Clinic in London, U.K. During this time he did his psychoanalytic training in London, U.K. He practiced psychoanalysis and psychotherapy in a number of Canadian cities. He has given lectures and seminars in many countries around the world.

Dr. Heath has given a seminar on "Applied Group Dynamics and Management Effectiveness" in several Canadian cities. In this seminar, Dr. Heath illustrated that the theories of the psychodynamics of small groups could be clarified and used in helping with management issues such as committees, task forces, and work units that were often on tangents from what they were supposed to be doing. He showed how these groups could be shifted to do the intended work.

Dr. Heath gave a seminar on "Treating Patients with Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in a Multicultural, Multilingual City in Canada" in the 3rd Asia-Pacific Congress of Psychotherapy in Singapore in 2005, and in the First Psychiatric Congress of Eastern Europe, and the Balkans in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2007. Then he gave a paper on this in the annual meeting of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London, England, in 2008.

Since 1980, Sheldon Health and Associates Limited has provided consulting and seminars to business, government, and the social fields.
